Deep links · Deferred deep links · Attribution

One link that does the work of three

Smart Links combines the power of three link types into a single link — and we handle the heavy lifting for you. Use one URL to open your app with context, route new users to the right app store, and measure where installs come from.

What Smart Links includes

  • Deep Links / Universal Links

Deep links route a user into your mobile app with extra information embedded in the link. A common use case: a user makes a reservation on your website, then taps a link to open (or install) your app. The reservation number (and any other fields you choose) can travel with that link so the app opens directly to the right place.

Example: “Open the app and show reservation #A12B34 immediately.” Optionally, you can conceal parameters behind a short URL.
  • Deferred Deep Links

Deferred deep links do everything deep links do — even if the user hasn’t installed your app yet. The same link can send them to the correct app store (Apple App Store or Google Play). After install, on their first open, your app receives the same deep-link data so the user lands in the right spot.

Similar to the experience many teams used with Firebase Dynamic Links (now discontinued).
  • Marketing Attribution Links

Attribution links include information about where a user discovered your app — for example: an email campaign, your website, or a partner site. You can then check your Smart Links dashboard to see which sources are driving installs and engagement.

    Example sources: newsletter, homepage, partner-blog.

Best part: we set up the backend

A single Smart Link can do all three things at once — deep link context, deferred routing, and attribution — and we handle the backend configuration for you. Unless you want short URLs, you don’t even have to call an API to generate links.
